If he is saved in Greenpath, Zote shows up in Dirtmouth, where he once again talks to the Knight in an arrogant fashion. Hitting his shell here grants the Neglect achievement. If he is not saved before acquiring the Mantis Claw, he dies in this location, with his nail and shell remaining. If saved, he complains that the Knight got in the way between him and his "prey", he introduces himself and boasts about his supposed mighty deeds. He is held in the mandibles of a Vengefly King, and the Knight has the choice to either save him or leave him. He regards the Knight as beneath him and accuses them of constantly getting in his way.įound along the path leading to Greenpath. While he claims to be the strongest warrior in the land, he is found trapped by weak enemies or claiming the glory of another bug's deeds. Unfortunately, because it is made of shellwood, it cannot deal damage. He named his nail "Life Ender" because names supposedly have power. This is ultimately revealed to be a promise of glory for himself. Zote is a traveller from outside Hallownest who came to the Kingdom to fulfill a promise. Some bosses also make a second appearance in the Colosseum of Fools.Īlmost all the boss fights in the game have multiple variations in the Hall of Gods, including alternate arenas that change the nature of a fight, or special challenges such as beating a boss without taking a hit. That number includes one “joke” boss that cannot damage the Knight ( Zote), but excludes the two that are never actually fought. When the Knight encounters a boss, the name usually appears on-screen, and the music changes into a battle theme.Ĭounting the variations, there are 47 bosses in the game. The Knight may have to defeat a Boss to access a new area, acquire an item, complete a quest, or simply further the main story of the game. Grimmchild is a nice little bonus that’s nice if you play defensively personally, I always use Grimmchild against Radiance, but very rarely against other bosses.Īlso, never use Glowing Womb during general exploration it’s alright for bossfights, I guess (though I still think the damage is too low, so I don’t really use it), but it essentially blocks your ability to heal, which is pretty nasty when you’re out exploring or going through an area. For the Godmaster versions of Bosses and a list of their differing information, see Hall of Gods.īosses are unique enemies in Hollow Knight that typically have higher health or deal more damage than the standard creatures in the same area. On the other hand, Glowing Womb works best in a nail-focused build where you won’t be using your Soul to cast spells anyways. The Weaversong+Grubsong combo works incredibly well in a spell-focused build alongside Shaman Stone and Spell Twister using your Soul for Glowing Womb will be kinda a waste, since you get more damage out of spells. However, I don’t think it’s good to combine Weaversong and Glowing Womb. Yeah, I feel like every time someone asks for help on tricky bosses or Pantheons, I always recommend Weaversong+Grubsong it’s part of my Pantheon of Hallownest staple build. r/demonssouls /r/darksouls /r/darksouls2 /r/darksouls3 /r/bloodborne /r/saltandsanctuary /r/castlevania /r/metroid Ultra-high-resolution Interactive Hallownest Map at with downloads and making-of videos. These sites have cool Hollow Knight content!
